Stressed In School

At some point you’re going to realize that you need to take care of yourself more than you already do.

We all know how much stress school can cause when you’re drowning in an overload of work. That’s why it’s important to balance your school life with your personal life so you don’t get overwhelmed and end up falling behind

So, what can you do when you’re in school or in the middle of a lesson, and you’re already feeling stressed?

  1. There’s no need to pretend you’re okay, so just take a couple of deep breaths to focus on yourself. Drink some water, and if you still feel anxious, tell someone. Tell a teacher or a friend that you know you can trust. You’ll start to feel relieved that you opened up about your stress.

  1. Personal experience: Every time I lose focus in class, I privately let my teacher know that I can’t seem to concentrate even if I want to. They may let me take a short walk in the hall, go to the bathroom to wash my face, or rest my head against the wall until I can get back to work. It might feel like temporary help, but it will stop affecting your mood and attention span in school.

The more you feel safe at school, the less your personal struggles will overlap with school-work. To focus on your mental health is to begin feeling comfortable with your emotions even if they overcome you in class.

Remember: Pushing away your emotions, even if you’re in public, will always come back to you. Try to always stay aware of your mental health, especially at school so that you can manage it at all times in any way.
